Alexander X. Douglas

Alexander X. Douglas is a Research Scholar at the Institute for Sustainable Prosperity, and a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews. Dr. Douglas completed his undergraduate studies (BA/BMus) at the Australian National University and earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy at Birkbeck College, London. He specializes in early modern philosophy, recently with a focus on the history of logic. He also studies the history and philosophy of political economy. His most recent publications include a book titled The Philosophy of Debt (Routledge 2016) and a number of peer-reviewed articles published in The European Journal of the History of Economic Thought, The Pacific Philosophical Quarterly, The Intellectual History Review, The Journal of the History of Philosophy, and Collingwood and British Idealism Studies.
