Anandita Gupta

Anandita Gupta is a Research Fellow at the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity. She received her BA in Environmental Studies and Economics from Denison University. Anandita is currently pursuing her MSc. in Geoinformatics at The Energy and Resources Institute, School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), Delhi, India. She has interned with organizations such as Ecocity Builders, Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, and TARU Leading Edge under the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network. After her Bachelors, Anandita worked on creating environment-friendly employment opportunities for the urban-slum women of Indore city, India, under the Jwala organization. She has been a Fellow in the Denison Sustainability Office and co-founded a US national environmental organization, IntersectECO, that strives to make the environmental movement accessible to all people. Anandita’s research focus lies in exploring alternative macroeconomic and financial frameworks that support long-term sustainability and resilience, aided by ecologically-informed decision making. She is interested in developing decentralized models in partnership with local communities, concentrating on sustainable design and food dynamics.
