Linda Matar is a Research Scholar at the Institute for Sustainable Prosperity. Her research and teaching involve the political economy and economic development of the Arab Near East and Southeast Asia. She is the author of The Political Economy of Investment in Syria (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016). She is also co-editor of Syria: From National Independence to Proxy War (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). She obtained her PhD in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
