Rajendra Rasu

Rajendra Rasu is a Research Fellow at the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity. He was trained in mathematics and has always been natural in problem solving. He is the founder and CEO of SR Capital Advisory (founded in 1991), which has been advising top business houses across south India. Rajendra is often sought after for special-situation advisory, structured equity-fund raising and asset reconstruction. SR has assisted clients in setting up wind and solar farms and offered turnkey solutions. SR has been advising local governments in policy making.

Rajendra is also a founder director of Prime Credit. It was south India’s first privately held management consultancy firm focusing primarily on advising promoters in South India. Prime Credit negotiated and advised several financial transactions in south India over a billion INR.

Rajendra launched the  Rural Renaissance Initiative in the early 2000, which focused on promoting healthcare, education & rural livelihood enterprises to bring about self-reliant villages. His quest for finding answer to the economic problems faced by downtrodden led him to the economic theory sphere where he discovered the work of leading economists on Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). He spent two years working closely with Warren Mosler and other MMT experts to develop MMT-informed policy proposals for the the Indian economy. His MMT work can be found on his blog MMT India.
