William O. Saas

William O. Saas is a Research Scholar at the Institute for Sustainable Prosperity and Assistant Professor of Rhetorical Studies in the Department of Communication at Louisiana State University. He earned his Ph. D. in Rhetoric from the Department of Communication Arts & Sciences at Pennsylvania State University in 2014. Dr. Saas specializes in the rhetoric of economics, with a focus on the history of U.S. federal fiscal policy discourse. He seeks in his current research and teaching to develop and deepen the connections between Modern Money Theory and the humanities. His published work has appeared in Liminalities: A Journal of Performance Studies, Rhetoric & Public Affairs, Advances in the History of Rhetoric, symplokê, Quarterly Journal of Speech, boundary2online, Monthly Review Online, and Dollars & Sense. He also co-directs the Modern Money Network Humanities Division, and co-hosts the podcast Money on the Left, presented in partnership with Monthly Review Online.
